Hi Lynn, how sweet of you to check in on us. We had a 3pm appointment today. The vet checked her over, he's not sure why she was ill overnight but it might be allergy related, which we know has worsened with age. He also checked her spine and legs, and we discussed her focal seizures and liver enzymes from the last test. She does have a tender area midway on the spine. Havanese are a bit longer in length than other small dogs and they have the ability to spring. This is likely affecting her rear legs now. She already has arthritis in her front right leg. We also discussed how to know when the time comes that it's arrived. He's such a compassionate, understanding veterinarian.
Anyway, he was concerned a pain med (gabapentin) would cause her to be too lethargic and other types of pain meds don't play well with the Prednisolone and other med that she takes. Decision made will be to increase her Pred from 1/2 tab every other day to daily for 2 weeks and then I'll call him and we'll go from there, seeing if we can taper it back down. She just finished eating her dinner, which is the first time meal she's eaten today.
