Greetings from NorCal, where it's partly sunny, and no rain in sight. Rainy season seems to be over.A great Miracle has occurred. After being missing for two months, she was found in very bad shape, but Maya is home from the hospital, and getting better every day. She was in the hospital 6 days.
She was quite wobbly, couldn't really stand when she came home on Friday afternoon. She was still anemic, and her liver and kidney functions weren't where they should be, and it could take a few months to settle down.
However . . .
I have a cat sleeping under my desk as I type. She can walk with very little wobbling now, and is trying to jump on the couch and the footrest for my stitching chair. Last night she was able to make it onto the footrest. She can get her front half on the couch, and scrabbles up using her hind feet to climb on the sofa.
DS brought the boys over to see her on Saturday PM, and she was all over them, nuzzling and purring. DS wondered of I had the right cat, as she never got that close to the boys before.
She won't eat the prescription food they sent home with me. She did eat it a bit in the hospital. Some of her meds need to be taken with food, so I've got some fishy gooshy stuff in a pouch, I put some in a dish, she likes it. And she likes the kibble she has been eating for years, so it's okay by me.
I take her to her regular vet tomorrow for a check up and more blood work. They are concerned about liver enzymes and anemia. She's not out of the woods yet, but she has beat the odds.
Catherine, how are you doing? Are you able to talk, write, and text any better after Melvin? Do you have follow-up chemo or radiation? Is your sight any better?
Joni, is Layk back yet? Has he found better, cheaper housing? What kind of work will he be doing this summer? Does he have work line up for the coming year?
Good news about Shauny being finished with Chile.
Mary in OZ, how are you and the family doing? How is your weather?
Sue/Bacongirl How are you? How is your granddaughter?
Susan in TX, please check in.
Cristing, how is life in SoCal?
EllieC, Mary in Ca/Wa/NJ, please check in.
Becky Montgomery, have you made the move, yet?
Waving HI to the lurkers.
Blessings to all.

France’s so pleased about Maya I am sure also she is pleased to be home.
Continued prayers for Catherine, hopefully she will come and tell us.
Sue/bacongirl, I woke during the night and thought of you I wondered how your GD is, I said a prayer for her.
Joni I’ll email you.
We had a couple of foggy mornings then the sun burnt it off. So far not too cold, winter starts next month.
I don’t know if I told you Finn was having seizes, about once a month. He is on half a tablet morning and night, blood tests came back good.
Yesterday he decided to run over and check out a kangaroo, the kangaroo hopped off. The large males can be very aggressive and have known to drag a dog down to water and drown it.
I had my RSV injection Wednesday plus over 75’s health check.
I best get going I have the book club this afternoon.
Love and prayers to all including lurkers

Maya had a good vet visit. She's gained almost 1/2 pound in the week she has been home, and is getting stronger. She's still pretty weak, but she's jumping up on the foot stool for my stitching chair, and can almost make it up on the couch without using her back feet to scrabble up.Lab work will be back Monday, but the dr is confident she is improving. As of now, she's just on Clindimyacin twice a day, until the 29th.
She's grooming herself, and eating the kibble she's been on for almost 10 years. And using the litter box.
I'm so happy. I'm so blessed. I can hardly believe it, gone for 2 months, and she's still alive and fighting.

Wonderful news, Frances! I am so happy that Maya is on the road to recovery and getting stronger every day. What a blessing to have her back! :)Layk is coming back on the 19th, and I so excited! He has two jobs to come back to, one during the summer and is picking up the other one again when the next term starts.
As for housing, no, he hasn't found anything cheaper yet. It is just insane what is going on with housing up there and that the university can't get their act together either. He did have someone offer him a room in their apartment, but it ended up being a loft instead with not even a door? He said that if he was only paying $200 less for the loft he would just stay in his expensive apartment, with a door! LOL!!
I am so happy about Shauny deciding to get rid of Esteban too, and that she is settling in here more. What a relief!
I am doing well with my blood sugars and keeping them under control. My functional doctor stepped away for a few months as she had a baby girl! :) I have an appointment next month, so I am excited to see her and talk about the baby.
Has anyone heard from Catherine and how everything went? Did they take out Melvin? I hope she is doing well and will post soon.
Waving at everyone!
Joni

Archangel, prayers for her are greatly appreciated. She is in our whole family's prayers daily. She's my girl even at age 31.
