Yesterday was our 49th wedding anniversary. After a surprisingly positive doctor visit for my husband, we had a too expensive lunch at Red Lobster. Delicious! Then I wandered around Hobby Lobby, Michael's and Blick. I have recently discovered adult coloring books, so I have been acquiring coloring books and pencils. Blick has the best supply of pencils. It is a small break from my obsessive stitching, but could never replace it. We ended our day with pie and coffee instead of dinner. All ordinary activities, but fun.

Happy Anniversary,,,,3 hours sleep is all I got. Oh well. I’ve been stitching like crazy all morning and hopefully will have another patriotic finish today. That’ll be 3 more to FFO hopefully this year.
Need to go to the grocery store, need things like bread, eggs, milk, etc. I know rain is coming, my knees and legs let me know…HAHA!!! Get it done on a Friday and hopefully Meijer will have an electric cart.
Boring us have no plans for the weekend.

Happy Friday!Gradually making a dent in the copious amount of shredding! This week our trash bin is full.
Still working on the filing system, that will take awhile, but most of that is just a matter of merging duplicates, throwing old stuff away. That will add to the shredding pile! Talked to our broker and found out not everything we have is marked as paperless. You can’t imagine the reports that are generated monthly! So I changed all that, which will cut down on at least some of the stuff we get.
Another beautiful day! This is why so many people come here.
My next big project? Organize all our tech stuff, which includes a lot (and I mean a lot!), cords, plugs, etc. Hubby liked gadgets, and he took care of all our tech stuff, and now, he has no idea what any of it is. I am not all that informed about it either, so I will have to learn.
I hope everyone is doing fine and the furry buddies are OK too. I miss our Zoe, but the way things are, I don’t think it would be good to get another creature! My hiking buddies have dogs, so I get to play with them. One has a standard poodle, 3 others have doodle dogs, then one has a combination no one is exactly sure what! So we are known as the ladies with oodles of doodles.😁
Nothing else to report!

Good afternoon!Happy Anniversary. Sylvia and DH. Sounds like a good day to me.
Hiker, I feel your frustration with the shredding, etc. And having to take over all the bookwork. I used to do all the financial stuff when we were working but once we retired, my DH took over and I love it. I hope that I don't have to do it again because so much of it is technical any more. Glad you were able to go mostly paperless.
We did the tech cleanout a couple of weeks ago and so glad he could help.
Played Pickleball this morning and I ended up playing harder and longer than I normally do. Sometimes think I should go play with the 80+ group but most of the time I hate to admit my age. This morning all the gals were about 10 years younger than me and I was feeling old. LOL I had one bad game but I did win some and had fun so I guess that's what counts. Except when I got home, I didn't feel like doing anything but play games on the computer.😊
Just got a new pair of sunglasses from Zenni. They are really quick for shipping.
Time to go watch news and do a little stitching.
Hope you all have a good evening and a great weekend.

Happy Anniversary sylvia55.Off to the gym again, upper workout today. I had expected to be a little sore after yesterday's core workout, but not a twinge.
DH is off to another doctor appointment, this time to an ENT for the odd itching and pain in his ear. On the plus side, the medical system finally refunded the money we had paid for his thrombectomy last year due to the %$&Finally had the dental x-rays at the new dentist.
Another unseasonably warm day, another red flag fire warning. The one wildfire to the west of here is now mostly contained. At least there is rain/snow in the forecast for early next week.
DH approved of the lawn chairs so I went back and bought a couple. They're on the patio, with a tray table we had stashed away in a closet. If the wind calms down we may have dinner out there, but right now it is blowing way too much to be comfortable.
Poached a batch of hard cooked eggs. Finally made the banana oatmeal muffins. I tried a new recipe, but it was disappointing, not very banana tasting. It used a cup of mashed banana and 3/4 cup of milk. If I make the recipe again I'll omit the milk and use 1 3/4 cup of the mashed banana. Other than the lack of banana taste, they turned out very moist and tender. The recipe has promise.
Dinner is pork pandi curry with rice. Time to place an order for meals for a week from Sunday.
Armadillo socks.

Happy Anniversary, many more.I'm wiped out from rummaging for several hours. My back and knees are aching but I'm not saying a word to my girls about it or they may not ask me again. I will deal with it.
Found a few deals. I do have one regret not buying something but happy with the things I did get.
We ate lunch at a local Mexican place, I don't like Mexican but had a Quesadilla which was ok. I brought most of it home for dh.
Now I'm off to shower and get my jammies on even though it's early. It's hot here today, 85 today.
Have a nice evening everyone.

I got frustrated with my stitching today and then burned my left index finger making supper so I guess I’ll lay off the stitching and read tonight. My finger is sore but hopefully won’t blister. Within a few seconds I had aloe gel on it from my huge plant. Hope everyone has a nice relaxing evening.

It's almost 5 pm here and i just came in from a day of working in the backyard,re arranging some things, transplanting others, pulling weeds wherever i saw them, watering etc. There's never an end to the work needing to be done around here.My epiphylliums are either blooming or in bud,got them all watered, and pulled those darn weed out of them.I may get rid of them after this season with them, since their blooms only last a day or 2 and i'm downsizing my gardening as well. That's another thing i was doing today, gathering those plants i plan to get rid of this year all together on one side of the yard.
Happy anniversary Sylvia and dh,hope you have many more.
Jan i also did all of the bill paying, household stuff for all the years dh was inthe Marines, and even after he retired.I think he took it over in the early 2000's,then in 2024 when i noticed he was struggling with things i took it back over.I had noticed he was paying some bills twice in a month, not writing names on checks, but the bank cashed them,or not paying a bill at all.So i told him i'd take it over again. So glad i did, because we are total opposites when it comes to money, needs vs wants, and bills in general.I hate bills and want as few aspossible, and get them paid off as quick as i can,he is the total opposite, would pay the minimum,as long as he was making a payment,so his credit remained intact.
We're just having blt's tonight,easy peasy.
I watched that story on Richard Simmons last night,it was pretty good.I didn't know he had messed up his leg over the years with all that exercise.I always liked him.Enjoy your evening.

Happy Anniversary, Sylvia. Sounds like you had an enjoyable day.Bigbird, hope your finger doesn't blister.
I've always done all the budgeting, paying bills, etc. Dh says if anything happened to me he'd be lost. I try to keep him in the loop regarding bills, etc. but he says it's too much to remember. Every so often I make him write out a check so that he'll remember how. LOL I also started a list of everything, with directions just in case something happened to me.
My best friend and I went shopping at Kohl's today and then to the pizza restaurant where we enjoyed zeppole and Coke sodas It's been a long time since I had soda. They had the strangest straw, it appeared to be a normal straw but when you looked at the inside it was actually narrower than the width of the full straw. The straw was causing the soda to bubble up whenever we went to take sips of our soda. And the more sips the more the risk of the soda overflowing the bottle when it was newly opened. As if we'd shaken the soda bottles. I ended up removing my straw. It was almost as if I was blowing air into the bottle rather than trying to sip soda. Not sure why or how that was happening. Just a strange thing in the course of the day.
