I went for a walk around the hood and then had breakfast.I'm debating if/what to cook for next week.
I'm waiting for a delivery this afternoon, so I'll have to be sure I am available for that.
That's all I got. 🤷♀️

Love DH. He went out for coffee and I cleaned living room window. After he left, zi took out thr vacuum and started vacuuming the living room floor. All I got done was behind the couch that I moved away from the window and then DH basically took over and vacuumed the whole upstairs. Gotta love him!!!!These dogs that are very short haired sure do shed a lot.

It's sunny and we hit a high of 75 but it's already heading down lower. At 2 am last night it was 43. Tomorrow it may hit 80!I plan to take a short walk after my towel laundry is done. I never leave the house with machines running. Windows are open and I'm hearing so many sirens right now. I hope that whatever is happening that no one is injured.
I also plan to cross stitch for at least an hour today. I have a floater in my eye that's distracting. Hope my brain stops noticing it soon. Beyond my delight in warmer weather, there's nothing else new to report. :)

Good afternoon!!My day of rest - no formal exercise. Laundry day. Watching football.
This has been a rough spring for a lot of my friends and just got a call that one of my best friend's husband is in ICU. To add to the sadness is they were going on a trip Tuesday. Just glad that they were still home and able to get to the hospital. They could use some good thoughts.
Time to stitch a little.
Have a good afternoon!!

Ellie, my burned finger never blistered and is pain free today. That aloe worked wonders! Finally a nice warm day and I vowed to do some things outside. I cleaned out two birdhouses. We had them opened up so no nesting would occur during our very disruptive concrete work. One little finch didn’t get the memo and laid her eggs in the top of the carport and four babies hatched while the men were working right below! I also spread two bags of soil in my large planter and pulled some dandelions with my Grandpa’s Weeder. That is the handiest thing! Lastly, I hosed and scrubbed the deck. DH is an avid bird feeder and they make quite a mess. Now it relaxing time while pork is cooking in the crockpot for pulled pork sandwiches. Now I’m going to relax and read in The Calamity Club. It’s 634 pages long and a library book so I must keep at it. But it is not a chore because it is a good book.

All the usual Saturday chores are done. Last load of towels is in the washer. My Tornado can opener died. The cutter is bent, no idea how that could have happened. DH was the last person to use it while I was away on my trip. Hmmmmm. I ordered a Kitchen Mama one from Walmart, should arrive by Wednesday. I was surprised Walmart didn't have any in the store, only online delivery and no in store pickup, since I bought the Tornado one in the store. Meanwhile, I may want to buy a hand crank can opener for backup since I have no way to open a can until the new one arrives.
Goat cheese and sun dried tomato pizza for dinner.
Today should be the last 80+ day until next weekend. Rain/snow is still in the forecast but I won't hold my breath waiting. No more smoke is visible from the wildfire, hope that means it is fully contained. If we actually get the rain, it should put out any remaining hot spots.
Big excitement for the day - ordered new furnace filters from Home Depot, only have one left. Apartment maintenance is coming Monday to change the filter and replace the burned out light bulb in the bedroom ceiling fan. With these 9 foot ceilings I can't reach to do these chores even on the step stool, and DH is too unsteady on his feet to be climbing anything.

Going to our gr.grandtwins birthday party. They are now 2 years old. I've been getting things ready for their ice cream bar. I probably won't stay long. I don't really like crowds. Maybe get back and repaint my concrete elves for my rock garden. I've put it off long enough. I also have a flag that someone wants me to mend. I think it's too far gone but I'll give it a try. I finally got my tomatoes planted and they are growing but no blooms yet.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend

Happy weekend everyone.Well WI sure is odd weather. We went from cold to now in the 80s. It's so hot out we have the A/C on. I woke up in the night and it was 80 in our house, so turned it on then.
I feel very lazy today, making myself do some things. I went out and pulled a few weeds, picked up a few pieces of small temporary fence that I had around some tulips. It's too hot to do much. I'm actually a bit wiped out after yesterday.
I sewed a few more blocks together and saw a cute cloth keychain to make. So I'm making one for my dgd for her b'day. It's from some really cute fox fabric that she saw once and loved. I'm just waiting for an Etsy order of a fox charm to attach now.
I need to do laundry, there's a lot! However that can wait until tomorrow. Dh has an event at the Rod & Gun club and he volunteered for something. He will be gone all day.
I was too laze the past few months to get my hair cut and it got really long. I guess I am not made for long hair. Ran to Great Clips and had just over two inches cut off. This is more me.
I'm off to look for a recipe now. Bought some frozen tortellini and want to do something with it and burger.
Take care,
Laurie in WI

In an emergency, you can open a tin can with a knife. See YouTube for videos.

Somebody or something stole my day. 😞I didn’t post yesterday but I did check here periodically. DH mowed our grass and ran next door and mowed DS’s (he was at work) yard. While he was taking advantage of a beautiful day I went outside and did some work too.
The above was yesterday. I haven’t accomplished a lot today. Forgot I had a load of whites in the dryer until I went to put the fitted sheets in. Those are now put away and clean sheets are on the bed. DH usually does that but today I did help him.
Jan I can do better than good thoughts for your friends. I am happy to add them (and you) to my prayers.
Ellie those floaters can be such a pain and sometimes a bit frightening. Sometimes I get several and find myself trying to swat the gnats from my face.
Gabby in case of an emergency we’ll have to break out one of DH’s John Waynes.
“P” I keep hoping to hear you’ve had a downpour of rain. Hard to believe with all the rain we’ve had that they said we are still in a drought.
DS#2 is busy mowing neighbor’s field and yard and asked what’s for supper. He was disappointed when I told him his dad has left over shrimp lo mein and I won’t be cooking. Bad mother. 🤣
Hope you all enjoy the rest of your day.

66 here again today, sunny and breezy.A couple weeks ago i had gotten a new blower from Lowe's for the yard, but i took it back as once i put the battery pack on it was just to heavy for me.Since i fell those years ago and hurt my hand,i have some trouble using some things.Today dh got a pkg from qvc and he had ordered a smaller one for me,i had never seen one like this, they sure don't have them here in the stores by me.But it works great,i just came in from cleaning out my garden carts, and blowing the walkway/patio area.I have a guy coming this evening to see if he can rebuild my garden carts using wood instead of the plastic they were made of,and which deteriorates in the sun, hoping he can use the same wheel base.So i got those emptied out.Sure hope he can do it.
I have one of those hand can openers that doesn't leave the sharp edges, and once i got it figured out,it's the only thing i use anymore.I stored the electric one in the back of the cabinet, couple more inches of counter space gained.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend, remain thankful, grateful and blessed, enjoy your nice weather.

Drove my husband an hour north to Lake City FL for Red Lobster for his birthday, and found it has closed, as had the one near us. My sister says Ocala still has theirs. Anyway we went to Texas Roadhouse instead. Didn't want to go into Gainesville - country singer Morgan Wallen is performing at the stadium and we're avoiding that mess.
DH enjoyed his steak dinner and took half home for tomorrow.
I stitched all morning and now I'm back to it while he naps. Maybe a movie later or I'll watch tv with him, he's been watching old seasons of Supernatural.Nancy L in FL

Bigbird, aloe is wonderful. I'm glad you didn't blister. When I had radiation treatments for breast cancer years ago, the nurse advised me to use pure aloe vera each time. She recommended I get it from the natural product store that was nearby. She also told me that if I did get worse burns there was a prescription creme they could prescribe. I never needed that prescription one, the aloe worked perfectly.Lynn, it's funny that you mentioned "swatting insects" with floaters. We actually had a some kind of wasp (hornet maybe?) that got in the house 2 days ago. Because we hadn't yet caught it, my mind was focusing more on the floater and I was swatting out of fear. LOL We eventually did get it. A few years ago I had a floater that had lots of lights flashing as well. Had to see a retina specialist to rule out possible retina detachment. No sparking lights this time.
I also have a hand held safety can opener. Works beautifully. I love that I don't have to handle sharp edges. I have a raised arched lump and scar on the palm side of my left thumb from grabbing a sharp lid off a can of cat food when I was 12.

I also have a floater in my left eye, my good eye. My right eye is a lazy eye and don’t really use or see out of it, but do have 20/20 vision. It drives me nuts at times when i am stitching, but I do exercises by getting it to go out of sight. Getting old sucks.I ask myself, why my good eye??

Ellie my retina specialist told me to watch floaters and if they do not go away to be sure and get in to be checked. He said they can sometimes be caused from something serious. Fortunately mine have always been gone after a few days.
