1) some sort of warning that the fridge is about to fail. Just like a 72 hour warning.... please.... like the gas tank gauge...

2) an app that makes cell phones inoperable while car is in motion. Car must be in park in order to be able to text/call. Ask me about the $6000 in damage to our property from people texting & driving.

3) storage space that automatically expands as needed !!

4) something to feed me Cheetos while I stitch !!

5) appliances that are worth fixing instead of just throwing out/replacing

6) household gadgets made of metal, not plastic, that breaks immediately (DH bought a plastic chopper in a plastic jar that broke after 2 uses; I found a metal one in a glass jar that is still working years later).

A floss "caddy", like golf caddies, to thread my needle and pass me the floss when I stitch.

Walls that are sliding walls in order to be able to display more walls of framed cross stitch at any given time.

I do, however, have a hint concerning the Cheetos: I use a toothpick to stab cheese puffs.

I eat snacks out of a bowl like a cat. No opposable thumbs needed.

Would love it if we could expand rooms, or add a room to the house, when company or family comes to visit. Like the slide out ability the RV's have. Don't need the room on a daily basis...but would come in handy when the holidays come around!!

Chopsticks are good at picking up Cheetos without getting orange fingers.

Don't agree with the cell phone one. Why is because if my cell phone doesn't work in my new car then I have no navigation and I rely on my navigation because I travel all over. New cars don't come with navigation built in they work off your cell for maps now and display on the car screen. Can't live without my Google maps for traveling. Can't see having to spend money on a Garmin when I don't need it and it would have to be in the front window in the way and be put up and taken down all the time. Hated when I had to do that. My phone hooks into my car and everything is hands free. Seldom get calls or text in the car but if I do don't have to touch anything. My phone sits under the radio on a built in charging pad. I guess if you have a very old car then this doesn't matter to you. Mary

Mary, I simply do not want people to text and drive. It can't be done. Any other use is fine. In 2 out of the 4 instances of drifting off the road, if I had been at my mailbox, I would have been killed. Cars going 40 mph do a lot of damage.

Seems we all have storage problems...

I agree with Jane on her #3 - Expandable storage needs. My house is too small and when I organize (which includes discarding items) there's always seems to be less space when things are put back in an organized manner.

Pterodactl's is genius. I never would have thought of that!

Aside from all these suggestions I got nothin'🤷‍♀️

As far as the cell phone. Mine will only work as hand held when the car is off. You can still use it through blue tooth when driving. My navigation works as long as the phone is nearby and activated.

#2 I do partially agree however not completely. Wasn’t aware you had to use your phone on newer cars for navigation. Feel for those who use their phones for emergency only. Here are a couple more reasons to disagree. Driver needs to be able to push button on steering wheel and make call in case of emergency. I also do not feel a passenger should be prevented from texting. Driver yes. I often text while DH is driving.

A device that can be read in the sunshine. Are you listening Apple, and Android phone, tablet people? Yeah, the Paperwhite can be used outside, but ever been in the sun trying to read the @*!!#$ phone screen?

In CO, and in Santa Fe, NM, a driver is not suppose to use the cell phone in hand, only through blue tooth, while driving. Is this deterring people from texting and holding a phone to their ear and driving one handed? No!

Friends who have new vehicles mentioned that the navigation is tied to cell phone. All hands free once connected. Since we have older model cars, we aren’t dealing with that. Our Subaru Outback is Bluetooth enabled. I can use my phone’s maps apps, if I plug it to the USB outlet, but I would have to look at the phone or have it talk to me. I haven’t done that. Our son does it all the time, he uses the voice activation.

Design a king size fitted sheet that folds easy, so I don’t have to wrestle with it and eventually give up and place the wadded up mess in the closet.😜

Hiker, just change your phone background to black and the letters white. That's what my DH does and he can read it in the sunlight.

Oh, and he says it works on his tablet too.

I put my cheetos in a solo cup and "drink" them.I hate the cheese puffs.I put my m&m's in a cup as well.

I wish they would make a magic duster,that when something senses dust that it would automatically dust itself..

DD has a 2017 Subaru Imprezza and she hooks her phone up and the maps show up on her car screen, voice input from the radio.
DH has a 2016 Subaru Outback and I don't think he can play the maps through the car computer screen. However, he can use the phone hands free for phone calls.

As far as new inventions, I'm still waiting for Rosie, the robot from The Jettsons cartoon who could do all the household tasks. Without having to be a genius at programming or having to set parameters, I want a Rosie to dust, cook, vacuum, do laundry, mow the lawn, and use the snow blower in winter. Not asking for too much, am I? :)

My friends that have subarus have to plug their phones in to work with the car and have the maps show up on the screens and the cars are not that old. Mary

My opinion is about cell phones is like many of you. Dont text and drive. We have passed many cars on expressways/ thruways and see the cells on the steering wheel and looks like they are texting. Our car is hands free but I do not take calls nor will answer any if I am alone. If someone important like my siblings. kids or grands. I find the first exit or resting area to call them back.
For navigations in a car they are not always accurate. Far from it to me sometimes. I remembered we were going to the hospital in Pittsburgh when one of my grandkids was born. we were on one of the bridges, 6 lanes . It came on wanted my husband and I do a u turn in a bumper-to-bumper stop. Oh I can tell so many tales of what it is telling us to do. So I am old school and us at the age when we had paper maps. We still have some. Plus I print off directions just in case. I do not and will not rely only on a phone map.

Pat google maps is spot on and has never failed me. I can't say about what ever apple phones use. Google maps alert me me to police ahead, car on the side of the road, road closed and such as it keeps track in real time and the maps are constantly updated. I have no issues using habds free in my car. Mary
