Fell asleep at 9 pm on couch, couldn’t keep eyes open. DH just let me sleep and I woke up at 2:30 a.m. around 4:30 a.m. went to the basement to organize. (Did this after stitching for 2 hours). Organized all of my paint colors, picked out wood pieces for 3 patriotic finishes I will FFO. Also put away stuff. Felt good, got cold so came upstairs and stitched some more.

Cheerios with fresh strawberries for breakfast. Strawberries were really sweet.

Going to rest, stitch and maybe take a nap. Temps are supposed to get to 85 degrees, it’s already 78 degrees at 10:30 a.m.

Official lazy day. The day's only accomplishment will be to make yogurt. And take a shower.

It "rained" overnight, a grand total of .01" in the rain gauge. Supposedly much more is on the way. We won't be needing AC for the next few days, may even need heat.

Good morning!

Usual w, b, b, RLT and pool. Now on the patio having my second cup of coffee. Beautiful morning here.

This afternoon my DH is playing pickleball so I get the house to myself. I do like that sometimes. Usually I clean the den when he's gone but don't need to today. I probably will turn the music up loud and dance around the great room. Don't do anything special but it is a good feeling anyway. Does anyone else feel that way? I do love my husband - we've been together 54 years, but I also like my alone time.😊

Should get a little stitching done this afternoon.

Have a great day!
Jan

Good afternoon,

Late last night I had a small burst of energy and did some monthly filing, as well as balancing my bank statement. Yep, I still do that.

I was ready for bed at 2 am (the norm for me) but my dog seemed to get confused and thought it was morning. After she came in from a quick trip outside, she refused to go to bed and because she no longer likes to be alone, she'd bark until either Dh or I got up again. Finally I sat on the couch, waited a while, and then re-enacted our bedtime ritual and she came into the bedroom. An entire hour of sleep lost to this dog. She slept from 3 am until I got up at 10:45. What we do for love.... After all her needs have been met, she's now sleeping on the couch next to me.

It's a gorgeous day outside. Already 77 and it's sunny! I need to run an errand and I plan to take a walk after getting some regular household tasks done. Then I hope to stitch again but we'll see as my neck is bothering me.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Ellie, we do what we have to do to make our pups happy. LOL
Yesterday was the birthday party for our gr.grandtwins. I wonder why people go all out for 2 yr old birthday. There were 40 people, mostly adults. The children didn't play together. They didn't want ice cream or cake. Why not have a close family birthday party until they get older. The twins were overwhelmed with the number of people.
We finally got a new water heater installed. It's so nice to take a warm shower without the water turning cold. I'd have to turn the water off, wait a few seconds and turn it back on. Usually 4 times to get a shower and wash my hair.
Now, on to our next project, and we have many that needs to be done.

Today, here in beautiful downtown Crofton, Maryland, it is a warm partly cloudy day. It has been good for a stroll around the block.

During my stroll, I saw a bunch of neighbors checking out the grass in the common area behind our units. One of them said he saw a turtle laying eggs earlier, but they couldn't find them again.

I hadn't seen turtles, but then I'd seen other animals on my ring doorbell camera: foxes and stray cats.

Tonight's dinner feast will be a salad and some crab cakes.

I hope everyone is having as good a day as possible!

Debbie

My get up and go got up and went.... 😮‍💨

My rheumatologist gave me a different medication to try for pain, but I think I may be having side effects.... I am going to stop taking it for a few days and see what happens.

I got the replacement pillow top for my mattress (the original one seemed to have been damaged in shipping). They were and hour and a half past the delivery window with no notice of the delay. When they did finally arrive, they had an excuse, but I did not receive an apology. 🤬

I am off work for a few days this week, so may wait on the lunch food prep to have it fresh longer. I did brew my tea this morning.

I bit overcast today, which I like, but it's not helping my motivation any.

Forgot to tell you about my Mother's Day. We have no children and have "adopted" several grandchildren from the neighborhood. They were all about 14 yr old when we met them. One has twins and he lives across the lake from us. On Sat.they came to visit and the twins came in bringing me flowers and a picture of their footprints. My DH went to the mail box and brought in a letter my grandson had written to me. It said how much he appreciates me and the things I have done for him and his family. The sweetest letter. At the end, he wrote a prayer for me and signed it Your Loving Grandson. I am so blessed to have him and his family in my life.

It's a very dreary day here today. Raining on and off all day. Poor dh is at his Rod & Gun club event and yes it's outside. I expect he will be cold and wet when he gets home.

I did several loads of laundry today. Not sure if it's better to do it once a week or a load here and there.

Our Mazie is alternately either limping or not walking on her back leg today. She does have luxating patella so it must be acting up today.

Think I will settle in with a book for a little bit.

Nice Sunday to all.

Need to keep reminding myself that I have so much to be thankful for. When things are looking down it’s easy to forget.

Jan that music and dancing sounds like a good idea. Sounds happy.

Ellie has your neck been bothering you for a while now or has it flared up again? Hope you get relief and are able to stitch.

Several loads of laundry going today. Did a load of whites (with bleach) and when I went to put them in dryer and realized I had a stupid attack. There was a pair of DH’s dark undies (TMI?), a pair of dark shorts and a dark tee shirt in with the whites. No idea how I managed that but I did. Thankfully no harm done from the bleach.

Cristing I’m sorry about that medication issue. Hope the doctor can switch to something else that will help.

Must put clothes in dryer, more in washer and check the spaghetti sauce. Yep I’m making spaghetti sauce for supper.

Hope those ailing improve and wishing all a good rest of your day.

Lynn

Lynn, maybe your DH threw them into the washing machine yesterday after he was done working outside. I can't imagine you threw them in with the whites.

I want to start stitching something new out of my stash, but I don't know what. Maybe I'll root through the kits I have. But then I'd have to iron the fabric. Too lazy to do that right now. Hmmmmmm. Maybe a Mill Hill Kit?

Spaghetti for dinner and it's already made, so nothing I have to do for that. (Lynn is a copycatter! LOL)

Hi all.

Yesterday, went on a short hike. Weather was really nice.

We are going tomorrow, but we will see, suppose to rain. I want to hike, but we really need rain.

When our son was small, before school age, birthday parties were family, which he seemed perfectly fine with. Then as he got older, we did somewhat larger parties. But not these mega things. This happened with our son too. A party would be held at a place, and there would be 40 plus kids there. Now, one parent can’t reasonably police such a thing. I would stay, even though I wasn’t invited, just in case something happened. Imagine 40 some 8 year old boys at a a Water World, bowling alley, or Chucky Cheese. One time a friend off mine had her son’s party at an ice rink, no one but me knew how to ice skate! Anyway, I wouldn’t consider myself an over protective parent, but there was no way I was leaving my kid basically unsupervised in a place like I mentioned. But plenty other parents did.

It’s really windy now, maybe a storm is blowing in.

Got to get my exercise in. Have a great day!

Daily chores done, was going to do laundry, but the hamper isn't full, and that's my sign.Wiped down all the extra kitchen stuff this morning, the microwave, the lazy susan on the table took everything off and cleaned it all, wiped down the bench, chair etc,and put away the spring stuff and getting ready for the red, white & blue. When i get off of here going to look thru my sewing fabric for blue fabrics to make a new curtain for the microwave storage shelf, and some bowl cozies etc.I've already bought new blue potholders, placemats, dish towels etc.By the end of this month i hope i'm done changing everything out.Used to be able to do all these changes in a day or 2,not anymore.

Need to order a couple things from Amazon.
Going to do tacos for dinner, was going to do spaghetti, then remembered we had that last sunday.

Looks like some of you have a warmer day today than we do,only 66 here and very windy, don't have any plans for outside today. One of my favorite plans is starting to flower,my blue evolvulous,if you don't know what that one is google it,bet you'll love it as well.I love blue and purple plants the most.Speaking of purple plants, the jacaranda tree is in full bloom now.

Better get off of here and start looking for those blue fabrics. Also need to do a repair on my bed skirt, and while i'm at it going to change it to elastic all the way around instead of having it attached to a fitted sheet, which is the way i had it,but it's too hard to take it off to wash that way.I had bought a new one, with the elastic all the way around, but it's far too skimpy for me,i likw nice full ones that hang nicely, and they don't make them like that.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Gabby I wish I could blame it on DH. Can’t. Had already washed and dried a load plus I think DH had gone to have the car cleaned. Total stupid attack. 🤷‍♀️

Laundry all done. Well I could do a small load of towels but will wait until tomorrow. Load will be bigger after showers tonight.

This spaghetti supper was to have been last night. Meat was thawed yesterday morning. DH said he was good with his shrimp lo mein leftovers and I got too lazy to cook. So now who copying who? 😂
