A vibrant medallion inspired by a Byzantine illuminated manuscript, the Myra Medallion folk embroidery hoop kit is terrific for both the beginner and experienced stitcher. While it looks intricate, it uses basic embroidery stitches and is a great first project if you want to explore surface embroidery.
This high quality kits include the design printed on 100% Kona cotton, DMC 100% cotton embroidery floss, John James size 7 embroidery needle, how to embroider instruction booklet, stitch diagram, and 6' beechwood embroidery hoop. Please note: the Kona cotton in "Sand" I used for the sample was much lighter than the current run of Kona Sand, so I am now using Kona White in this kit as it matches the photos more closely.
Stitches: Backstitch, satin stitch, stem stitch, French knot
Finished size: 6 inches in diameter
