Half cross stitch is used for subtle shading effects. Complete kit includes 14 Ct. White Aida, presorted thread, needle, and easy instructions. Finished size: 18" x 7". I haven't had a chance to start this kit, but I bought it because it's very like the kits from Leisure Arts that were sold in the 80s. I love that it's a kit-no searching for threads in other projects-and the colours are bright and fresh. Someone else mentioned that you could pull out a section instead of stitching the entire thing. All in all, it's a pretty kit and I like it.
