Blending filament is already fragile. This new spool design, with multiple slices across both the top and bottom, makes it almost impossible to avoid these slits with your thread as you pull it off the spool.
Great product, but the old spool, while smaller, was less damaging to the thread. It only needs one slit on the spool to anchor the end. Not sure why Kreinik changed the design. 5 stars for the blending filament but none for the spool.
