While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:
1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.
2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.
3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.
All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

Ive been cross stitching since i was a teenager and introducing to my daughter. The kit does come only with just threads without labels and for a new learners they kind of confused. I have to label it myself. Wish they have a sample of color along the instruction to follow. But overall this come so nice. I ordered the whole line.

I ordered the conch shell kit because I had previously done the starfish design and it turned out beautifully. The beading was not as difficult as I expected but that may be because I only did a half stitch to attach, and I love the dimension it gives the project.
