While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:
1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.
2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.
3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.
All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

This is an adorable Downy Dove! However, for the small size this little one takes a lot of time to complete, due to the fact that one must stitch first and then stitch again to add the beads. It is fairly easy to complete, just give yourself enough time to complete and dont be fooled by the small size that it will stitch up quick. I was not a fan of the perforated paper, if I make again, will probably use regular fabric.
