Each block is made using three different values of the same color: a light value (low-volume) fabric, a mid-tone fabric, and a bright fabric, plus a dark solid fabric for the eyes and stripes, so making this quilt can be a fun exercise in working with different color values.
The blocks are made entirely of square and rectangular pieces sewn together using conventional patchwork techniques. No templates or paper piecing!
