Hand Over-Dyed Floss, Sold in 5 yard Skeins. The colors are variegated enough to be noticeable, yet subtle enough to blend naturally. Because it is pliable, this fiber is perfect for cross stitch and needlepoint on many different counts of fabric and canvas. It is also works great for punch needle (1, 3 and 6 strand) and stitching on wool applique and penny rugs. It gives a more subtle appearance to the fine stitching on applique than some of the heavier fibers like pearl cotton.

This color is used a lot in Snapperland patterns by Bent Creek. It is a good brown. There can be color variations, so get all you need up front, and maybe a little more, so you can control the colors as you go.

Can’t really say this is a beautiful color, but it’s a great color for what it’s intended for, tree trunks, leaves, and other outdoor items. Love Weeks large variety of colors and the look it gives my cross-stitch.

This is a great thread. I am using it for embroidering a tree. Love the color changes. Never hear of this until a project I am doing mentioned it. So glad 123 Stitch had it. They have everything. Love ordering with this co. Orders are filled fast & I have never been disapointed.

I love Weeks floss! Colorfast, this is a brown very very subtley variegated green. Reminds me of tree bark in a wet forest in the Fall season.

I discovered I was looking at the wrong color when I previously reviewed Weeks Dye Works "Bark" as brown. I was looking at "Chestnut" which is dark brown. "Bark" which a previous reviewer stated is a greenish color is correct.

I've never used Weeks Dye Works or Sampler Threads before but was surprised how easily they go through the cross stitch fabric with almost no tangling and cover the fabric well. They are also colorfast. Great threads to work with but a bit pricey. The color Bark looks dark brown to me not really variegated.

While I prefer all the colorfast floss from WDW, as it does not require any pre-washing or rinsing, this color floored me! It looks brown in the photo online and the name would make one think it is brown, but it is much greener than brown, like a very moldy tree! I even asked other people what color they thought the actual floss was and they all agreed no prompting at all it is a green of some sort...
