The Avlea Rosewood Mini Awl is a beautifully made little tool that is a lovely addition to your stitching basket. The warm rosewood* handle fits perfectly in the hand, and the precision 1" awl tip makes quick work of two of the most common tasks in folk embroidery: removing stitches (the dreaded "frogging"!) and pulling threads when working a drawn thread hem finish. I know this tool well from my years as a professional tailor, where awls like this were indispensable for pattern drafting and I was delighted when our hoop supplier offered this beautiful version.
Size: 2-5/8" total length, 1" awl tip Handle: Rosewood* Finish: metal tip
*made from a sustainably forested paduak hardwood that is called "rosewood" but is not the same as endangered rosewood. It has a lovely reddish tint and a smooth finish.
