They are time consuming, therefore I am working on the two I ordered now for2great grandchildren's first Christmas in 2017. The kits are fun to do, instructions are very clear, and all felt pieces, floss, sequins, etc., are included. Great kits!
from United States on 07/11/2016 - Cute Stocking for my Grandson I have made stockings for each of my children--following the tradition started by my mother--and now I am making them for my grand children. I fell in love with this cute train stocking and wanted it for my grandson. The kit has everything I need but there were issues with the quality. The thread is either cheap or old because it frays and breaks easily. The biggest problem with this kit is the instructions. They are vague and in many cases not organized very well. For example, the instructions tell you to stuff and attach pieces to the stocking front before adding cut outs or extra pieces. Then you are left with a awkward pillow that you are trying to sew through to add the extras.Then right in the middle of the instructions, they tell you to put the back on the stocking. That is crazy because there are still so many things that need to go on the stocking front first. Why would you do that?There are literally NO directions for the fringe on the scarf. The picture in the stitch directions is so confusing. There are no written directions so you have to figure it all out off that picture. I had to go on Youtube and still could not find what I needed. I faked it. It worked, sort of.I buy these kits because I need step by step instructions and I appreciate having everything I need in one bag. I have made 5 stockings--embroidery, needlepoint, and beaded ones. This kit was the most difficult of them all because of the cheap thread and mixed up instructions. The end result will be adorable, however. I am glad that this is not the first stocking I have ever made because if it was, I doubt if I would have made any more.
