I loved this classic fall design so much that I asked my model stitcher to stitch it in two different colors! The front cover photo (above) is the model in rust using Belle Soie Silk Floss, while the back cover model (below) is a deep dark chocolate color using Threadworx.

The model was stitched over 2 threads on 32 count linen Stitch Count: 70H x 69W.

Model stitched one over two on 40 Ct. Vintage Pecan Butter using Silk N Colors, Belle Soie, and Gloriana. Also needed, but not listed above Captain's Sea Chest and Grandpa's Pipe from Silk N Colors. Stitch Count: 121W x 89H. Design Size: 6" x 4".

Inspiration for this design came from a vintage velvet tomato pincushion. Somehow that became two squirrels stitching under an acorn "bobbin" tree, an acorn basket and an acorn drum with the text "gather and stitch."
