While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:
1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.
2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.
3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.
All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

I have completed all the pumpkin kits love them all! Just now starting the Snowy Owl, it is going to be challenging on the dark paper, but i am excited to complete!
I am still waiting on a back ordered kit, Barnyard morning, I think is the name! Could you please check on this item!

This was a little more challenging than most Mill Hill cross stitch kits but looks great!

I am "addicted" to Mill Hill beaded cross stitch kits! They ALWAYS include more than enough floss, beads, and EXCELLENT directions. The projects turn out exactly as pictured...unless I do something crazy! I appreciate that 123stitch carries so many different Mill Hill kits, sells them for reasonable prices, and even has very reasonable shipping rates. Sales are common and the website is easy to use and cruise!Thanks from a VERY satisfied customer who is currently working on co-ordinated Christmas ornament kits for my 2 grandsons for the next 12 years
