While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:
1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.
2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.
3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.
All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

This was a great project. I enjoyed makeing it and was able to finish it quickly. It looks great in the frame. I love the finished product.

I love these cross stitch/bead kits. I have completed many enjoined each one. The School Days currently working on finishing the details. It is very detailed, great bright colors, beads add so much punch, and the added back stitch puts the final touch especially on the ruler.
These kits are so complete everything included great value. The button/charm is equality the final exclamation to the project.

This is another great kit from Mill Hill, perfect for September going back to school. Would make a wonderful teacher's gift too.
