The third in a series (after "Mary Barton's Work" & "Among the Roses"), this addition to the flock represents a visitor local to my area, with some unusual coloring from the original Victorian stitcher. Adapted from an antique original in my collection.

Stitch count 144w x 140h and uses only full crosses over 2. Model stitched on 32-count 'Flax' by Zweigart using 2 strands of Weeks, Gentle Arts & Classic Colorworks.

Intrigued by this pattern, I ordered. Intrigue lessened when pattern arrived. Not exactly user friendly (pattern printed on front and back of two sheets instead of 4 single sheets of paper); colored picture of completed project is but 3 inches square; if using DMC floss, the listing of floss needed, icons, etc. is divided up on the pages requiring the stitcher to consult 3 pages (why not list all this on ONE page???) to know which color to use for which icon. The pattern is beautiful, the idea is intriguing. Just wish the printer would consult a seasoned stitcher before printing the pattern in such an unorthodox manner. Would rather pay more for the pattern and have a user-friendly, stressless experience; hopefully future patterns from this artist will show more consideration for the user.
