I just finished my first pattern, Halloween House. I stitched is on 16 count Country French Golden Needle Aida fabric and it looks amazing. The patter was so fun to stitch. The stitched border is so cute. I used DMC. I usually substitute colors, but I didn't on this pattern because they are perfect!

These little houses are a lot of fun to stitch. I would recommend at least 2 skeins of the Wrought Iron thread as you will use a lot, or substitute DMC 310. On the Halloween house, the pattern calls for Soot to fill in the windows, but that doesnt appear dark enough like in the photo. For better contrast, I used Wrought Iron. I also substituted Gold Leaf for Buttermilk in the candy corn to make it appear more yellow than cream-colored.
