Note from designer: I chose to design the year 1867 on the pocket because while I was looking up some information on jack o'lanterns, I came across a site that told of the first image of a carved pumpkin being published in an 1867 issue of Harper's Weekly.
This time of year generally calls for vampire bats, but let's not forget about their flying-fox- cousins, the fruit bats! Fruit bats love fruit (figs being a favorite), nectar, and flowers. The bats themselves were quite a challenge to design, but I really had fun with them!
From Paulette: "I really don't know what to say about this design other than.. why not? It's almost Halloween! And mummies are probably the most misunderstood creature of the season. Maybe he'll make an appearance in Halloween Moon, when that one gets designed."
