I began exploring English Cameo glass after a visit to a museum where I saw some extraordinary examples of this art form. Inevitably, when I find something like this that interests me, I turn it into a cross stitch pattern.
Models stitched on 32 count Blueberry Pie from Grace Notes Fabrics using DMC threads. Stitch count: 100 x 101.
I found an interesting square design in a centuries-old pattern book, where it seemed like the square would have been rotated around and used four times. However, it was unclear which corner would have been in the middle and which would have been on the outer edge. After playing with it for a bit,... Read more
The inspiration for these four little biscornus was a piece of cotton fabric that was being used to make a project bag. I loved the geometric design and bold color scheme and knew I needed to create a cross stitch pattern from it.
Model stitched on 32 ct Christmas Red Belfast linen and Black Belfast linen using DMC threads. Stitch count: each biscornu is 39 x 39.
Amish quilts have always fascinated me - I am quite taken with their simplistic beauty, their stunning use of solid color fabrics, and their history. In 2024, I was fortunate to see an exhibit of such quilts at a museum. There was an amazing Broken Star quilt right at the entrance that just drew me... Read more
I enjoy doing color experiments in my designs and this pattern is the result of one. Using the highly variegated Weeks Dye Works Bethlehem with one coordinating DMC for each circle, it is so fun to see how a solid color brings out the different shades that make up the variegated thread.
After releasing my cross stitch pattern 324 (which was stitched with 324 different colors of DMC) last year, I began stitching a new version featuring the same colors but with various types of stitches. Initially something I was creating just for myself, it soon became apparent that there was great... Read more

I love geometrical designs and the color palette really caught my eye! That said, with only five colors, it is easy to substitute in a different color palette for a... Read more
In my explorations of old embroidery books, I came across a number of rug designs in a book from 1880. While they were intended as inspiration for woven carpet patterns, I realized that a blackwork design could also show off the dynamic beauty of the geometry.
I loved roaming the woods and exploring shapes and designs in nature as a child, and still do today. There is a symmetry and balance within nature when one starts looking. I played with shape and color to create a piece that is both restful and exploratory at the same time, kind of like a walk in... Read more
Welcome Fall was a fun design inspired specifically by the Pirate Robin Harvest Gold thread I used. I thoroughly enjoy stitching Quaker designs. Stitched primarily in a single variegated thread, the design features a variety of autumnal motifs, with the lettering in a complementary second thread... Read more

Stitched in a rich gold on deep red fabric, it features a variety of different motifs. It's a great reminder to lift your voice and your spirit in... Read more
