Note from the designer: We thought it fitting to name a quilt for Bekah and her mom Sharon (Roses of Sharon- DLL 211) and use the same fabric group, Antoinette by French General by Moda Fabric. Add a real twist to your Wedge Star projects by cutting diamonds from pieced fabric strips. Your stars will spin either clockwise or counter clockwise and can be varied in oodles of ways. This is a fun next step in creating Wedge Star quilts. The strip sizes in the chart come very close to dividing the diamonds in two equal size strips for a simple Twisted Star.
We love fancy diamonds and bet you do too, so thought we would add them to our Star 60 units. You can make this variation in 17 unit sizes, from 2" up to 18" in 1" increments. If you are making those units into stars, that would be 4" to 36" stars in 2" increments. This technique is a bit of a challenge but what a result!
