The name and style of this sampler led us to investigate whether it was created in Spain or Mexico. Mexican sampler scholar Mayela Flores Enriquez, PhD, confirmed that although the name is Hispanic, the style of flower baskets and larger girl are not consistent with Mexican dechados (samplers).
