Her name is Lottie O' Stash, an Irish lass. She really enjoyed collecting, which a good number of us can relate to. Her tombstone reads: "She started a lot and finished a few. She had many a plan before to heaven she flew".

I just love the way she turned out! Mary is the second sampler in the Samplings in Color, where I take a very simple little sampler and give her a makeover, although the sampler is a reproduction, and the colors are in keeping with the original. Caroline College 1823 is a stunning sampler from the collection of Myriam Riley, who also stitched the sampler. I can't tell you how much I love this one. The organic border had me hook line and sinker. I have been a bad influence on Myriam as she now owns a number of samplers.
Mary Fosh 1821 has been an eight month stitch along for the Tudor Rose Sampler Guild, and she has a beautiful palette, and despite being English she looks like American Folk Art to me. She was so enjoyable to stitch, and I am so excited to share her with you.
I am finishing up the tombstone series with May thy Needles Rest in Peace #5. I am paying homage to one of our favorite places. Ellen Ess is where the series concludes, at least for now. Thank you all for embracing this quirky series the way you have.
