Model stitched over 2 threads on 36 Ct. Legacy Linen with Gentle Art Sampler threads and Weeks Dye Works floss. Stitch Count: 145W x 156H. Finished Size: 8 1/4" w x 8 3/4". Uses specialty stitches - Algerian Eyelet -Oblong Stitch and the Satin Stitch.

Lugana: 52% cotton, 48% viscose. An easy care fabric that is also easy to work with. Zweigart article 3835-1079.

Collected from German, Italian, Scottish, Dutch, English, and American samplers, this book of alphabets takes off from where the previous edition, Alphabets from Early Samplers, ends. The alphabets have been fastidiously reproduced from samplers dating from 1530, to 1868. Over 80 alphabets are charted, as well as two complete alphabet samplers, one of them dating from 1725.

This antique sampler immediately caught my eye simply because it was stitched in purple, my favorite color. There is something about a sampler worked in one solid color that I find so beautiful and timeless.

Model is stitched on 36 ct. linen with Gloriana silk floss. The stitch count is 116 x 116 and the finished size is 6.44" x 6.44".

The motif on this piece was taken from an antique Dutch sampler. This piece inspired the English Garden Sampler. Kit contains linen, thread, calico fabric, and ribbon.

National Female Model School Sampler - Kildare Place, Dublin circa 1820

This pattern has 1 specialty stitch - the Satin Stitch. And the small alphabet at the top and the small letters at the bottom are stitched over 1 thread of linen. Pattern is stitched on 46 ct. linen with 100/3 Au Ver a Soie silk floss. The stitch count is 96 x 147 and the finished size is 4.17" x 6.39".

Isn't this a striking marking sampler! I had hoped to acquire it myself, but someone beat me to it - then, that someone' turned out to be a stitching friend right here in Clarksville!
