Au Ver a Soie Soie 100/3 is a single ply highly twisted spun silk for embroidery, counted thread, canvaswork and hand, machine and long-arm quilting. The color number system is identical to Soie Perlee, but different from Soie d'Alger.
The shades are different than Soie d'Alger and it greatly expands the range of color selection in shades not generally seen in other company's thread lines for embroidery. The thickness of the thread is slightly finer than a single ply of Soie d'Alger. The top and bottom of the spool lift up for ease in securing the thread. Each spool is 50 meters.

If you think you would like to try silk for your cross stitch,Any color Au Ver A Soie 100.3 is the one to try. It is very sturdy and does not fray. Best used on higher count fabric.

GLORIOUS silk thread! Solid colour with no variation/shading. You use the thread just as it comes of the spool. Very nice to mix with other silk threads & DMC threads. Recommend to use with smaller needle-28 or a size 10 beeding needle. Let the threaded needle retwist on itself now and then, to avoid knotting. Use 2 threads on linen up to 36 ct/18ct aida, for best coverage. 1 strand on 40ct and higher fabric. ROBUST, Ecomomical, easy to use, Try it on a small piece and see how you like it!:)
