Charles Craft Gold Standard is woven from 100% cotton yarn, produced especially for Aida. USA-made Gold Standard is up to 33% heavier than imported fabric, so it can be stitched without a hoop.

Packaged in a clear plastic tube, providing a convenient square shape for easier storage. Plastic tubes keep the fabric free of folds and creases and is great for storing projects and supplies.

The fabric quality is great BUT it is very hard to stitch on. I don’t generally use Aida except for blackwork. It was good for that use but the holes are so tiny and tight it was virtually impossible to stick your needle in, even though I was using size 28 needle. Unless you are a glutton for punishment I really can’t recommend the 18 ct.

Charles Craft Gold Standard is the ONLY fabric I use. I never use hoops anymore. I just roll the fabric as I stitch, lay out flat when I'm finished for the day. No creases. No stretching. No fussing. So easy!
