I have used this thread before and it is beautiful but difficult to use because it splits if you try to thread your needle like the regular thread. Pushing a loop of double thread through the needle is the only way that seems to work.

Even coated with Thread Heaven, this Light Effects Precious Metals DMC floss is virtually impossible to use. I tried on several projects and ended up every time substituting a close color of Kreinik Very Fine Braid, 4. It is much easier to use. Save your money on this one!

Like all metallic floss, takes some getting used to, but the effects are worth it. Package didn't state if I coud separate into more than 6 strands and it looked like it was separating on it's own. Did "peel" apart while stitching and I had to pull out some loose strands. Didn't change the effects.

I like this product. I have used another brand and I find this one to work better for me. I use some seventh heaven with it and take my time and it seems to work well for me. It adds a little extra sparkle to a pattern.

The DMC Light Effects add a nice sparkle to designs. I've used primarily gold and silver shades which I especially like for Christmas cross stitch designs. The thread can be more temperamental than regular floss, but using 1 thread in the needle works well. When 2 threads are required for stitching Cut a length approx. 18", fold the thread in half, push "loop" end through the needle and pull the "loose" ends of the threads through the loop. This anchors the light effects thread to the needle so it doesn't slide around in the needle eye and fray.
