Working with any type of thread that has metallic looks is a royal pain and this is no exception. However, my impression was that it frayed and separated a bit less than some others I've used. However, these threads do make a nice effect, really making things pop out, when needed.To those who haven't worked with something like this, before, remember to cut your lengths shorter and keep a needle threader nearby. These types of threads are much harder to thread without a threader AND because they fray and separate and tend to slip out of the needle more than other threads, you're going to need those needle threaders.

One of my projects calls for this. My local stores don't care a large assortment of these "special" dmc floss items so I ordered from 123 Stitch. I dislike running all over trying to find items for a project. This is not the easiest floss to work with. They recommend small lengths, no more than 12 inches. It is beautiful so will be worth the extra effort.

Yes of course it's beautiful and if you add this thread to your project it will look so amazing. But it's a pain to work with this thread. I broke 2 needles while trying to stitch a small part of my project. I made sure for myself if I have this thread in key in my future projects, I'll substitute it with anything else.

I purchased this thread to add some sparkle to some fireworks and snowflakes I was cross stitching. The thread is fragile and a bit stiffer than regular DMC thread, so work with it in short sections. I added 2 strands of this with my 2 strands of colored Dmc thread and it looks beautiful.

This floss gives a definite silvery look but is very pliable and east to handle, unlike the metallics. Love it!
