The color variation is beautiful...I have rarely used variegated floss in my 40 years of stitching, but I know enough to make full crosses rather than to go to the end of a row with half stitches and returning back through the row to complete the crosses. This way, the variegation is gradual and clear. And as for DMC floss in general, it's all I use...a classic.
