This delicate Gold Collection counted cross stitch is a collection of beautiful treasures from the ocean. As if tossed up by the surf onto a sandy beach, these precious treasures delight the eye. Our seashell confection is worked on 18 count ivory Aida with cotton thread. Half Cross Stitch is used to create subtle shading. -- Finished Size: 8" x 4" (20 x 10 cm) -- Designer: Todd Trainer.

Because we love the beach so much, my husband has always wanted me to stitch some "beach" projects...finally finding some really nice graphs...beach, shells and sea life are my new stitching obsession...!!!

I ordered this kit to make as a gift. Upon looking at the graph, I noticed that there were a lot of blank spaces in the design. I read the instructions and it mentioned the blanks. As i have been stitching it, I am filling in most of them as it is just too much left blank. Also you need to come up with a different thread holder. While the one in the kit works to hold everything in place, once you start to stitch if you do not use the entire length, there is no way to neatly put it on the holder. This makes it very difficult to keep things organized while stitching. As most stitchers do not stitch one entire color before moving on...they build from one area to the next and do not skip over 50-60 stitches, this becomes a challenge to keep the threads neat and accessible.

Although this kit is put together well, with the threads organized and labeled, the fabric is too small to frame properly. I was forced to use a different piece of aida.
