Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust's verse inspires this colorful welcome to springtime and a nod to those who make our lives special. The verse is complimented by floral motifs from 19th century pattern books, and I just couldn't resist stitching that exuberant bouquet on silk gauze, showing that portion as an alternate to the larger sampler. A pretty berry is also included, shown on still another fabric, illustrating the multiple options available.

Pattern is stitched on 36 count Stone linen from Fiber on a Whim (Sampler), 40 ct Silk Gauze (Floral) and 36 ct Affogato from Fiber on a Whim (Berry) using Classic Colorworks, Weeks Dye Works and DMC floss. Stitch counts and finished sizes are:
Sampler: 93 x 202; 5.2" x 11.2"
Floral: 87 x 87; 4.35" x 4.35"
Berry: 127 x 72; 7.1" x 4"
