An interpretation of the antique Japanese Sashiko fabric that was used hundreds of years ago to quilt and repair fabric. our version is a woven cotton with a Sashiko weight cotton thread stitched throughout, giving it a handmade look and feel. it makes a perfect background for applique, a simple quilt or for any sewing project that needs a little something special. Prairie Cloth is a fairly heavy weight cotton, with a visible weave. Prairie cloth is suitable for projects such as bags and journal covers, where a heavier weight fabric is ideal. It is a great base for applique and even serves as a base for an uneven cross stitch grid.
