I enjoy stitching with silk, the colors, the shine, the ease with which the fiber glides through the fabric. All that being said, I chose Fiesta Light because it stood out so nicely on the background fabric. What I did not realize until I had stitched a large portion of the pattern was that this variegated floss created bands no matter which direction I choose to stitch. Whether on the vertical or horizontal, bands appeared. Ultimately I chose to use two complimentary floss colors and railroaded the stitches.
