Note from the designer: Combining antique motifs, borders and alphabet fonts is one of my favorites to design.
This is a monochromatic design that can be stitched on any fabric with any one color of floss. The blue model was stitched on 36 Ct. Mayflower from Fox & Rabbit with Belle Soie Silk floss in Red Raspberries. The blue model was stitched on 36 Ct. Lightning from Needle Bling with Classic Colorworks Blue Moon. Stitch count is 217W x 85H. Finished size is 12" x 4.7".

Unfortunately this design is not easy to follow.

Collected from German, Italian, Scottish, Dutch, English, and American samplers, this book of alphabets takes off from where the previous edition, Alphabets from Early Samplers, ends. The alphabets have been fastidiously reproduced from samplers dating from 1530, to 1868. Over 80 alphabets are charted, as well as two complete alphabet samplers, one of them dating from 1725.
