They have a nice pointed tip, that's not too sharp, and lets the needle pierce through the fabric with ease. The eye is a decent size to thread without the help of a needle threader, for me, but if need be, a needle threader can fit through the eye with no problem. Being petite needles, I am able to utilize as much of the thread as possible. After a few months of working with these needles, I can for sure say that I can no longer go back to using standard-length needles.

from United States on 05/13/2019 - Needles were bent I love the size and smoothness of these needles I have used them in the past but these were all bent at the eye when they arrived. I was able to straighten them enough to use them, but one broke while I was straightening it.

from United States on 05/03/2015 - John James Needles Great Needles. The Petites are easier to use than I would have expected since I have arthritis in my fingers I thought they might be difficult to keep hold of. However, I can manage very well and can stitch to a shorter tail of floss.

The petites are excellent to have on hand for getting those last couple of stitches in that otherwise would be impossible with the standard size. Every stitcher should have these in their stash!
