The gold finish seems to wear well, too - unlike the gold-plated DMC needles, which seem to flake off entirely after about 10 hours of use. Oddly enough, both the eye and shank seem slimmer than my other brands size 26's, so they're actually a bit too small for my current Aida project - but I'll definitely be using them for detail work backstitching, etc. and other projects with a finer weave fabric.
