I did a couple of projects which called for 2 stands of DMC gold metallic thread. It was a nightmare, really prone to tangle, even with Thread Heaven. On the advice of a person in my Facebook cross stitch group. I used Kreinik 8 gold cord braid. It was a little heavier than the other flosses in the design, but really punched the border parts. It was much less prone to tangle, though with any metallic, it is helpful to use shorter lengths than one might with cotton floss. I used this on Imaginating's Noel and Joy by Joan Elliot.
