While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:
1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.
2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.
3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.
All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

Have started kit. Love it. Only problem is stitching dark floss on dark paper. Would rather do more stitches of darker floss on light background. I know it will be beautiful when I finish, just not sure I would choose to do more than one as I do with most other Mill Hill kits.

Love the way the Mill Hill bead kits come with always enough floss and beads. Instructions are always clear. This goes for the Monarch kit I bought also.

I have probably complete over 200 of these Mill Hill beaded kits. They use quality materials, the beads and gems are always excellent, fit perfectly and the instructions are easy to follow. Can't go wrong with any of them, especially love the colors in this one.
