While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:
1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.
2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.
3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.
All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

from United States on 04/03/2024 - Not easy Sorry to say I had a difficult time with this. I've been doing cross stitch for 50 years and except for very early never had this many issues. It seemed that the beads were the wrong size. The large ones too large and the small ones too small. I've done a number of your cross stitch patterns on paper, no problem with any of them. I will say that my granddaughter loved it.

I purchased more to make for friends and I now have almost every egg. Quick to do too. Only took me a week of sporadic work. I recommend all the Mill Hill kits and I give them as gifts all the time.

from United States on 03/29/2022 - Great fun A friend and I discovered these separately to do as a gift for a friend. This is my second one. I did the tulip previously and have 2 others to go. This is a great product, lots of fun to do and the finished product is so bright. The pictures don’t do it justice. All of the kits in this series are very good. In fact, my friend and I hope they will do something similar for the Christmas season.
