While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:
1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.
2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.
3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.
All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

I love this little kit. Cross stitch is one of my favorite hobbies, but lack of time often gets in the way. These kits allow me to continue practicing my craft and not feel overwhelmed by a large project.

An easy beading only project. All half stitches so it was relatively faster to finish. I had difficulty threading white thread in a beading needle, but Everything else was great.

Finished egg is much prettier that the picture shows. Fast to work because you use only half cross stitches & all white thread, so no need to stop & change colors. Have ordered more kits in the series & have finished four more.

This Daffodil Easter Egg bead kit is the perfect project for spring. The color combination is springy, and since it is an all-bead kit, you'll have it completed in no time! The kit contains everything you'll need to make the egg. I would recommend some type of bead sorter, just to make picking the correct bead color easier when beading.
