While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:
1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.
2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.
3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.
All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

Nothing I like more than stitching a flamingo. I love this Mill Hill kit that lets me stitch a small bird that makes a perfect ornament to hang on a Christmas tree or the rear view mirror in the car. P.S. I love 123stitch too!

I havent decided yet if this will be an ornament or a magnet either way it turned out really well, and was a lot of fun to stitch. Instructions are thorough and clear, supplies are generous, and the colors are great for the design.

I made this flamingo for a friend, and it turned out so darned cute that I bought two more kits to make for other friends. Quick to make too, I think I had it done in less than two weeks. As with most cross-stitch items, the photo doesn't do it justice. The colors are vibrant and the beads add sparkle.

I can't wait to do this one. Just moved to Florida and this piece will become an ornament for next year's Christmas tree. I've done the Mill Hill kits before and just love them.
