While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:
1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.
2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.
3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.
All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

Very cute, fast and fun to do. Although it comes with a magnet, I've turned it into a hanging ornament for my Easter tree.

This was an easy project, and the result was attractive. This made a great hostess gift. I enjoyed completing this kit and the person I gave it to seemed like like it.

haven't stitched this yet, but the kit included a magnet instead of a pin back. this is not a problem for me, i was planning on getting a magnet for it anyway, but just so other buyers are aware.
