While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:
1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.
2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.
3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.
All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

I enjoyed making this kit and was able to get it done in time for my Thqnksgiving decorations. It was easy to do and the beads really added to it.

When I bought this kit I knew I would be changing a couple of things I had decided not to use the beads I'm saving them for a future project so they won't go to waste and I knew I would change the words to just a simple Thanksgiving on the top and the year on the bottom. I'm still stitching this about half done and I am loving it! Houses are my favorite thing to stitch I have no idea why...I just enjoy them and this sweet little house is adorable. I have never stitched on perforated paper before I used fabric for other Mill Hills and it's okay but I prefer fabric. The paper fits perfectly in a small Q snap but for most of the time I am stitching it in hand. I highly recommend this kit!
