While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:

1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.

2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.

3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.

All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

I absolutely love all of these skull kits by Mill Hill. The colours are so vibrant and will be great for Halloween. I love how the beads add an extra pop to make them even more special.

This was exactly what I was expecting! Directions were easy to follow and it did not take a lot of time. The final product turned out perfect. I would definitely buy mor Mill Hill ornaments

This 'sugar' skull is really striking when completed. The kit provided perhaps three times as many beads as was needed to complete the project. Mill Hill suggests doing two skulls and stitching them back to back. That's what I'm doing - Naranja and Rosa.
