While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:

1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.

2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.

3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.

All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

4 stars out of 5 from United States Tiny United States flag on 04/08/2019 - Love the Mill Hill bead kits
Love the finished look of these kits. This is my first "autumn" kit. I have done several of the Christmas houses. The perforated paper is not ideal to work on, easy to rip and can use a hoop, but the more of them that I do, the more careful I've become. The charts are easy to read and the floss is DMC. They are detailed without taking an enormous amount of time to complete. I think they are fun and I would love to do them all!

5 stars out of 5 from United States Tiny United States flag on 10/16/2017 - Pumpkin Harvest
I love Mill Hill stitch projects. They are so easy, yet chalk to do. I bought my first one in Savannah several years ago and got hooked on the perforated paper, now I wont do anything else Im counted cross stitch. I live in Florida & this one of the truck with all the pumpkins just caught my eye. Loving all the shades of orange.
