While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:

1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.

2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.

3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.

All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

This kit came with a magnet and was apparently intended to be a refrigerator decoration, but my fridge doesn’t adhere to magnets. I ordered it to become a Christmas tree ornament, and it finished up nicely.

I’ve done so many ornaments, Mill Hill beaded xstitch, and this is absolutely one of my favorites! I’ve done one and bought another because I liked it so much. I seldom order repeats!

I made a,real mustake on the pine cone thinking it was the larger size of Mill Hill ornaments. But as usual the packing ofthe order was great and your selection of patterns and kits wonderful. Prices very competitive and shipping costs best in business. 123 stitch is my goto for my stitching needs.

Perforated paper was a fun change of pace from usually stitching on fabric. Instructions were clear and it went up quickly. I backed mine with brown felt. Cute! kla

This kit arrives in a nice tidy little package with everything you need, including both beading and embroidery needles. For such a tiny piece, it still lends the right amount of challenge to complete it. I love the dimension of snow the beads give on the tips of the cone. The red berries look perfect.
