While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:
1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.
2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.
3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.
All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

This was fun. My grown son has a golden retriever who just loves playing in the water and mud puddles she finds. I changed the color of the bandana to pink to match the pink collar she has.
It was fun to stitch. You will never be disappointed with a Mill Hill design from my favorite supplier 123 Stitch.

I stitched this as a gift for my cousin, but it was so pretty when I finished it that I was tempted to keep it for myself! It is much prettier in person than the photos and it was a lot of fun to stitch.
