While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:
1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.
2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.
3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.
All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

i really like Mill Hill kits because they are just the right size for me and do not require heavy frames or hoops. They do not have to be ironed and are always so beautiful when complete. This one is especially beautiful and I am working it now. I love the border as it looks like tapestry. I do wish they would do a bit better with the threads however. The colors are so close in shades that I have to have help ID'ing them before I can start.

The item as a whole is very nice, good fall colors. I’m sure it will turn out beautiful. The kits are special. I really enjoy working on them.

I never cross stitched on paper before. Not liking it at allExtra floss In an unused color. Made it difficult to figure out which was the right one. It would be better if they listed the number of lengths they included that way it might be easier to tell what each color is given how close some of the colors are

I haven't started this particular kit but I have enjoyed all of the other Mill Hill kits I have completed and I will enjoy this one. Love the variation of colors they use with floss and beads.
